A wacky artist has recreated some of the world’s most famous faces with her favorite fromage for a bizarre London exhibition.
Prudence Staite has carved out a niche for herself by creating intricate sculptures using cheese – her latest works include Cheryl Cole, Barack Obama and Dita von Teese.
Asked why she opted for cheese over a more traditional medium Prudence said: “I have always thought that aspects of celebrity culture are incredibly cheesy.”
Her works are currently on show at Kings Road Gallery exhibition in London… just remember to take your own crackers.
Barack Obama bust was made from a solid 20kg block cheese while the Cheryl Cole portrait uses slices and grated cheese, plus all the key ingredients of a tasty cheeseboard from grapes and biscuits to chutney and nuts. The Dita von Teese model is also made almost entirely of cheese.
Prudence says she used LowLow cheese to create the works because she says it lends itself fantastically well to being modelled and shaped.
