Salt from Human Tears Goes on Sale
By: Alice Stewart
A range of salts made from harvested human tears has gone on sale in London.
The collection can be bought from Hoxton Street Monster Supplies and offers salt produced by humans while experiencing a variety of different emotions.
The range, named Salt Made From Tears, uses fresh human tears combined with a craft that has been around for centuries. The process sees the concoction “gently boiled, released into shallow crystallisation tanks, then harvested by hand and finally rinsed in brine”.
A spokesperson for the company explained that the salts are all different in taste. The range includes tears shed from emotions such as sorrow, laughter and anger. In addition to these emotions there are also tears from sneezing and chopping onions.
Each jar of salt costs £7 ($10.98) and are made with help from experts in tear harvesting.
